Review: Jordana matte lipstick

Hey lovelies!
I went to Srina Palace again, yes, I'll admit it's fast becoming my favorite store to visit. I was searching for a good matte lipstick and I saw that both Srina Palace and Fancy Point (in Wellawatta) had Jordana matte lipsticks. I’ve used Jordana lip pencils before but never tried any of their lipsticks, so I thought I'd give it a try. First of all there were several shades available and I went a little crazy swatching them. However the shades I originally wanted: Natural and Pink Passion (yes I did my home work before visiting) were unavailable so I went for the shade Taupe (No. 38). I did a double-take when they said the lipstick was priced at Rs. 450. I thought it was very cheap considering it is a matte lipstick, and I am still amazed at how I refrained from buying all of the shades.

Packaging:
The packaging is good, it's not the kind which immediately attracts attention, but I would say it is classic in terms of the colors which were gold and black. The lid was in clear plastic, so the shade could be seen clearly. It might not be the sturdiest of the covers but it will do if you’re one of those people who are really careful with their products. The ingredients are mentioned in their website, which I will link below.

Wear:
The website claims that it has an opaque matte coverage, and that it is non-drying, comfortable, long wearing & non-feathering with a velvety-smooth feel. I think it applies very smoothly for a matte lipstick and I was very impressed with its ability to not feel heavy on the lips. It is indeed non-drying which is great for a matte lipstick and does justice to pretty much what it claims to do. One thing I do not agree with is the claim that it is long-wearing. I found that it transfers quite easily and it doesn’t have a lot of staying power.

Would I buy this product again?
Yes, I think it’s a great lipstick to have and if a couple of touch-ups within the day doesn’t bother you, this is the perfect fit. If natural shades aren’t for you there are bright and bold colors which go with any skin tone. And for that price, every girl on a budget needs these.

Rating (out of 5): ❤❤❤❤

Please leave a comment below sharing your experience if you've tried any of the Jordana matte lipsticks.

They also came out with their new modern matte lipsticks a couple of months ago, if I'm correct, so check out their website for more details: http://www.jordanacosmetics.com/

Much love,
