Review: Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick (No. 111-Kiss of Life)

Hello everybody,

First things first, I know I promised an eyeliner review and I will upload that post as soon as possible. Secondly, I'm sure you are aware that I'm obsessed with lipsticks and if you've also seen my Instagram page, you know I've been loving red lips this month. As if I haven't raved about this product enough, I decided to write a review about it. I did a mini ASOS haul a couple of months back ( and I got this lipstick along with a Barry M one, which I already did a complete review of ( The shade I picked was No. 111- Kiss of life. I feel as if I forgot to mention that I've been yearning for this particular lipstick for so long that when I finally got it I was on cloud nine...for a good couple of days. I also mentioned how ASOS had a beauty sale right after I got it and they also had another beauty sale quite recently, so even though  I bought this lipstick for $9.95, at the sale they went for a price of $6 odd. Most important however is learning what the acronym FOMO meant, thanks to ironically missing out on the sale. And now if you're not half asleep reading all of this, let's get to the review.

The matte lipsticks come in a red packaging whereas the others come in a black packaging. Other than this there's not much of a difference between them as they both have Kate Moss's signature on the cap, the Rimmel crown at the top and the name and shade number at the bottom. I couldn't find the list of ingredients, not even on the website.

My reaction when I first opened the cap of this lipstick was 'Oh my goodness, the smell' and I'm still enticed by the smell. It smells fruity, like berries to be exact and it instantly makes me happy. I love the color and I couldn't be happier that I picked this shade. To me it's a proper red meaning that it's not too warm nor cool toned. I love the fact that even though it is a matte shade, it's not too drying. It's lightweight and comfortable on the lips. It glides smoothly without any patchiness. It is fairly opaque and two swipes of the product is enough to bring out the true color as it is well pigmented.
On the flip-side it lasts only about 3-4 hours on my lips. While reapplication isn't an issue for me, I would've liked a bit more staying power.

Would I buy this product again?
Absolutely! I have already got a couple more on my (extensive) list of saved items on ASOS. I know that they are a lot cheaper in beauty stores in US/UK so it's a complete bargain for those of you who are there. If you know any beauty sites that ship them internationally for a lot less, please share in a comment down below. There's also a ton of colors to choose from and if you would like to see swatches, check out the YouTube channel by Beauty with Emily Fox. Her videos are amazing and I will mention the link below.
